Chapter 01 — Role

Development Lead, AI Tooling.

At IBM I lead development of AI tooling for seller and developer productivity in the CIO department. Other teams build chatbots and agents. My team takes care of the common pieces so they can focus on their business logic and their agents' tools. We handle RAG, user experience, feedback collection and measuring whether a chatbot is actually giving business value.

Chapter 02 — Where

IBM, Bengaluru.

I'm from Pune and now work out of IBM's Bengaluru office. Building things was a hobby first, and now it's my job.

Chapter 03 — Background

B.E., Information Technology.

I did my B.E. in Information Technology. Most of what I know though, I learnt by building and shipping real software, and breaking a few things along the way. I speak Marathi and English.

Chapter 04 — Side projects

Side projects, from scratch.

Outside office work I keep building side projects. Some became real products, some didn't. Either way I learn something every time.

Chapter 05 — Breaks

Breaks are part of it.

I work hard, and every few months I take a proper break and travel. I come back with a clearer head, and the work is better for it.

02 / How I work

The way
I work.

Five things I'm good at. Where they overlap is how I decide what to build.

01 — AI efficiency

I use AI tools a lot.

I use AI tools every day for my own work. By now I know where they save hours and where they waste time.

02 — On top of new tech

I keep up with new tech.

I pick up new tools and frameworks early. I try them myself first, and suggest them to the team only if they're actually useful.

03 — Multi-tasking

I can handle many things at once.

Most days I'm running several streams of work in parallel, and I make sure none of them gets stuck.

04 — Asks → implementation

Requirements to working code.

Stakeholders tell me what they need. I think it through, ask the questions nobody asked, and turn it into something we can build and ship.

05 — Business sense

I understand the business side.

So I look at problems use case first, customer first, and with cost in mind. Using new tech just because it's new doesn't make sense to me.

built.
